I spent my weekend volunteering at the National Taekwondo Championships held at the University of Delaware.  It was a very exciting day where I learned a lot about the art of Taekwondo while providing my services to the athletes.

Taekwondo is an ancient form of martial arts that utilizes ones own body in combat.  It is an effective, weaponless art of self-defense characterized by its fast high kicks and spins.

The Poome section of the competition was very cool to watch.  Poomse is a choreographed pattern of movements that must be learned in a certain order and it can become progressively more difficult as one achieves a high rank.

Taekwondo is a activity that will challenge you body in many ways.  It can increase your overall fitness level, improve flexibility while maintaining a inward self control.
