My Gilbraltar Dream, Wilmington Delaware

As many people go about their daily hustle and bustle driving in Wilmington, Delaware, few notice the hidden gem sitting at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Greenhill Avenue.  


Behind the tall stone wall lies the lovely property of Gilbraltar, Delaware’s hidden oasis of horticultural and history. Developed originally in 1844 by John Rodney Brincklé, Gilbraltar maintains its characteristic charm thanks to Preservation Delaware and currently to the Gibraltar Preservation Group. 




I would love to own this historic property. Born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware, I have worked with my friend Elizabeth H. Ryan every weekend as a child in various gardens. I love the beauty and calmness of gardens and would love the opportunity to make this my new project. Gibraltar would be a perfect spot for my boutique healing center. A girl can dream

Room Make over Amber


I was asked to help with a room design and declutter session.  We started by going thru her closet and sorting the items she had.  I told her to make 3 piles.  Pile one was giveaway.  This included anything that she did not want or things she could no longer fit.  Pile 2 was the trash pile.  That included anything that was tore, stained, faded or damaged in any way.  The last was a maybe pile.  Things she loved but have not wore in the last year.  After sorting the we trashed the trash pile and hung up the keep pile and the maybe pile was put to the side for evaluation after.  The evaluation consisted of trying on the outfit and looking at the fit of the garment and if it suited where she wanted to be in life.

The start of part 2 involved cleaning the space by vacuuming the floor, dusting and wiping down the area.  Nothing feels better than a clean space.  Next we brought in the new items and started to set up her space.  Glad I could be a part of giving her a new space.  :) #chiroglam

Ladies Tea & Talk 2017

As a female business owner, I have faced many challenges such as starting the practice, brainstorming ideas, finding a building, securing capital and much more.  I decided to have a Tea & Talk where women can come together to ask questions and brainstorm ideas.


We sat in a circle and one by one introduced ourselves. Part of the introduction included goals or problems that each women needed help with or motivation on.  After a few baseline questions each person then wrote ideas that may help that person achieve the goal. In each chair was a butterfly folder, that symbolized the birthing of something new and promoted change.  We served tea and variety of snacks while the ladies discussed changes and help each other become better.


As a take home inspiration I put a variety of tea bags in a purple bag.  On the front of the bag was a saying by Eleanor Roosevelt.  It stated " A woman is like a tea bag - you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water"

My 80's Inspired 40th Birthday

Highlights from my 40th Birthday Party

I had a great time celebrating my 40th birthday party at the Christina Skating Center (christianaskatingcenter.com) located in Newark, Delaware.  I was so happy that all my good
 friends and family joined me in skating the night away.  At first I was not sure if I was going
to do a birthday party this year, but after talking it over with my best friend I decided to celebrate it. 
I figured you only turn 40 once in your life so why not do something fun while burning calories.
I decided to add a little 80's theme to add more fun to the night and donate all proceeds to 
The Rosehill COmmunity Center in New Castle, DE (www.rosehillcommunitycenter.org/)




This was a skirt I made with lights underneath.  Will do a blog about how to make the skirt later.
I was so cute and I felt like a princess!! I loved the lights blinking on me in the
dark skating rink.  Soooo Cool!


By far the skirt made me happy but my gift table was definitely popping!  I just loved it!!
It was not just one thing but the flow of the simple decor that just made me happy.  I 
wanted it to be 80's decor but not what you typically see in 80's decoration.
So I added splashes of color and made my own photo's.

One gift basket was donated from Rosehill Community center and it was a fitness inspired basket filled with awesome goodies.  I made 2 baskets.  One was a movie inspired basket with lots of delicious things like candies, cookies, popcorn and sodas.  I also added 3 movies that I relate to in different ways.  The Princess Bride because by far that is the best love story ever!!!!! And it is funny.  I also added Mrs Doubtfire because It was my mother's favorite movie and I loved watching 
her laugh at it.  And Finally Tuskegee, because I love and support the Tuskegee airmen.
I actually got to meet some of them.  Very humble men



I had a great night and I really appreciate everyone for making my day special!!
